Rationale:
The European Commission has recently presented its proposal for the Framework Programme 9, called Horizon Europe, which mentions five societal challenge clusters including health as well as digital and industry. These societal challenges shall be advanced through high-level mission-driven initiatives. Such missions aim to increase the impact of European research and innovation through bottom-up driven programmes with closer links to European citizens. The EC has also announced a first EU digital programme proposal as well as published a communication on the ‘Digital Transformation of Health & Care strategy within the digital single market’ in 2018.
So, where does this leave the topic of Ageing on the EU agenda in general and AAL in particular? What has AAL to contribute to those future programme discussions? How should AAL or ‘Ageing well in a digital world’ be positioned in future European partnership programmes?
The speakers will debate about these questions by providing their own viewpoints and recommendations. A maximum engagement with AAL stakeholders in the audience will be encouraged, in order to provide policymakers and national funding agencies with their thoughts and ideas.
